Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Dennis Edwards.

Dennis was born in Jefferson County, Alabama and entered military service through Fort Hamilton New York. He served as a Basic Field Artilleryman from January 1961 to December 1963.

He spent most of his enlistment stationed in Europe and his last major duty assignment was with Headquarters Batter, 2nd Howitzer Battalion, 35th Artillery, Seventh Army.

He is best known as the lead singer for The Temptations, after replacing former member David Ruffin in 1968. He is a Grammy-winning artist and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Dennis recently passed away due to illness and is interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

We honor his service.
