VA Vitals: employee engagement and education a top priority

The Office of the Under Secretary for Health released the latest VHA Vitals report, which lists the top 15 Things the Veterans Health Administration is Doing to Improve Access, Care, Timeliness and Quality for Veterans and their Families. Among VHA’s Priorities for Strategic Action is continuing education to enhance employee engagement that improves quality care for Veterans.

With VA, staff members gain access to nearly 6,000 virtual learning programs and products, such as the VA Learning University (VALU), where you’ll find training, tools and other resources that help boost professional performance and career growth. This includes the Virtual Aspiring Leaders Program (vALP), an initiative that prepares highly motivated individuals for leadership roles within our system. Additionally, we provide 18 national and 2 state accreditations/approvals for continuing education.

Through these offerings and more, team members are able to continually expand their knowledge, strengthen their skills and develop new ones. It’s a dynamic that leads to better performance, which in turn generates better treatment and service for our Veterans – the heart of employee engagement at VA.

If you’re ready to maximize your potential, explore our current opportunities and pursue one today.
