#VeteranOfTheDay Army Veteran Christine Banedt


Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Christine Banedt.

Christine served as an Army medic in the Women’s Army Corps for 24 years, from 1962 to 1986. She served two tours in Germany, at Frankfurt 97th General Hospital and Stuttgart 5th General Hospital, as well as a tour at Okinawa Army Hospital.

She was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, two Army Commendation Medals and a Meritorious Unit Commendation and Drill Sargeant Badge.

After retirement, Christine returned to school to receive her RN license before working as a nurse for 16 years. She remains active in the veteran community and has been a member of the VA’s Women Veteran Consumer Council for 7 years.
