More than 20K Vets Land Jobs with Hiring Our Heroes

It’s official: The US Chamber of Commerce jobs initiative for Veterans, Hiring our Heroes, recently surpassed 20,000 hires across the country. Their success is marked by a sustained and aggressive focus both in and out of government, and we look forward to seeing that number grow even higher.

While we’re encouraged by a downward trend of Veteran unemployment, there are still far too many Vets out of work. Employment is an important factor in your physical and mental well being, so securing a job can make all the difference for you and your family.

If you’re out of work or looking to change up your career, there might be a Hiring our Heroes event nearby. Check out national events through August below, and if you don’t see one near you, hit the upcoming event map for fairs extending into next year.

Seems peculiar that none seem scheduled in Southern, or even Central California.

Perhaps they’ve already happened in those regions?

  2. Donna Williams says:

Is there any information that can be sent to me to assist myself with job assistance? I may be separating in the next couple months. Thank you!

    • Donna,

I highly recommend that you meet with the Local Veterans Employment representatives (LVER) and/or Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialists which can assist with the following services at No Charge to any veteran:

      Career Planning and Counseling
      Case Management

      Veteran’s Job Fairs

I never cared to go to those kind of job fairs. A lot of them are jobs that I’m not interested in i.e. desk jobs or jobs that require me to be inside a building 99% of the day.
