“I wouldn’t be here without VA. They changed my life,” said Navy Veteran Joe Ann McBride, who gets her care at the Carl Vincent VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia and is participating this week at the National Veterans Golden Age Games.
Nearly 800 Veterans of age 55 and older will join volunteers and rehabilitative professionals from across the country for the 31st National Veterans Golden Age Games, scheduled May 7-11 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
“I’m competing in the track and field events, and shotput and javelin,” said Bremenkamp, who recently celebrated his 84th birthday. “I think it’s great the VA supports Veterans like this.”
