Navy Veteran Nikki Taylor is today's Veteran of the Day.

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Navy Veteran Nikki Taylor, who served as a dental technician and now works as a healthcare advocate for Veterans.

Nikki Taylor, whose parents both served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, grew up in the Veteran community. She always appreciated the camaraderie among the service members and their families. Inspired by their commitment and service, Taylor eventually served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman and specialized as a dental technician between 2013 and 2018.

Taylor supported dental providers in exams and operative procedures while performing cleanings on service members to maintain their medical and dental readiness. Her last duty station was Naval Branch Medical Clinic Capodochino at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy. During her service, Taylor was awarded with the Good Conduct Metal and two Flag Letters.

Currently, Taylor works in Dallas, Texas. She is building on her medical experience in the Navy as a healthcare advocate for the Texas Veterans Commission at the Dallas VA Medical Center. She helps Veterans in navigating the VA health care system, providing assistance with the enrollment process, selecting a primary care provider, and addressing any health care questions and concerns.

Taylor is also enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Texas at Arlington, with the goal of obtaining her bachelor’s degree in social work. She also plans to pursue further education for a master’s degree and continue serving her community.

Thank you for your service!
