Army Veteran Carmen Gloria Pérez is today's Veteran of the Day.

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Carmen Gloria Peréz, who served as a finance specialist at several posts from 1991 to 1997.

Carmen Gloria Peréz grew up in the Bronx and moved to Puerto Rico when she was 10. Later, she joined the Army in 1991 as a finance specialist. She served in Germany, South Korea, Alabama and Virginia. During this time, she worked at the Pentagon closely with the U.S. Treasury while simultaneously taking night classes.

Through the duration of her service, Peréz earned an Army Commendation Medal, a Joint Service Achievement Medal, an Army Achievement Medal, an Army Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal.

Honorably discharged in 1997, Peréz continued her studies at George Mason University, from which she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in government and international studies with a minor in legal studies. Facing the chance of starting a new career, Peréz then decided to pursue acting in Hollywood after graduating from GMU.

In her free time away from writing children’s stories, acting, voiceover jobs, and creating art, Peréz dedicates her time to volunteering. While living in California, Gloria volunteered for Pin Ups for Vets, Young Storytellers and the Los Angeles Mission. Additionally, Peréz is a proud member of the American Legion, Post 43 in Hollywood.

Thank you for your service!
