Ha! I can’t help but laugh. All these comments and replies about something so simple.
*If you’re unsure of the requirements to prove you are a Veteran or 100% Service-Connected Disabled Veteran or other rated Disabled Vet, call or email Beth Lamb or Six Flags Customer Service.
If you are either of these you should already be aware of what category you are in.
If you are a 100% S-C Disabled Veteran and are married, your wife (and children under the age of 18) should have a Dependant ID card the same ‘off brown’ color as yours. The main difference is yours (100% Disabled rating)) does not expire (“Indefinite” in the date of expiration area) and your wife’s (and underage children) needs to be renewed every five (5) years. With these ID’s you’re good to go. Other than that, *see above.
It would be nice to see all Six Flags parks do this, The two listed in the article are a bit far for me and mine to go to.
Not all tat bad. Your Georgia drivers permit should show Veteran and may be possible to use that to get in?
What about L.A. does that apply to 6 Flags at Magic Mountain. Can they do the Scuba Diving here?

Questuon. When we go in for free admissions. What activities are covered as part of the military appreciation.
@ Beth, clearly people need it stated more simply. Either that or learn how to read and comprehend what’s written.
IF YOU ARE A VETERAN YOU CAN USE A VA ID CARD OR YOUR DD214. I don’t know how many ways you can answer the same question. Thanks for clearing it up 100 times. You have the patience of Job my dear. Lol
All you Vets- HOW MANY WAYS CAN BETH LAMB SAY “ID CARD OR DD214”?!
If you were in the military, you DO know what a DD214 is, do you not?!!!
Your freaking family are NOT the veteran- therefore 50% off their ticket prices. How MUCH SIMPLER COULD THEY MAKE IT FOR YOU. SHOULD THEY SEND YOU AN INVITATION IN CRAYON?
Dang! Talk about making a business regret offering something nice to vets! You people are maddening!!! Geez…
My husband is active reserve. We have military ID, but our daughter (with different last name) and her husband do not have military ID. Would she and he be considered dependents?
No
For everyone’s information you can get a Veteran ID card (VIC) at this web site.
https://www.va.gov/records/get-veteran-id-cards/
Furthermore most States offer a Veteran endorsement on your license with proper documentation. Either of these would suffice as proof of service in lieu of presenting your DD214.
Thank you Six Flags for your generosity.
I think that Six Flags Over Georgia , should also include a free Ticket for the Spouse also . Does the Spouse get a free Ticket.
No they get 50% off
Can we provide a copy of our military ID for our family members to use? Most of us will not be able to be present in Georgia this weekend.
My wife doesn’t have a dependent ID yet. Can she get free admission with my military ID? Do I also get 3 free tickets for dependents as well?
Thank you Beth Lamb for your knowledge and patience while answering the same question/statment just worded different.
Beth, aren’t Veterans shy?? LOL And Shane , no one was complaining but simply looking for clarification, additionally MOST vets are NOT in the VA system. . Thanks SFG, Beth and all,.Keith
YES your VA identity card can be used and if you’re a 100% Disabled Vet you can get a DD Form 2765 which is a military ID.
i am a scuba diver and was helping in Ramstein Germany with the WW scuba program. if you somethin like that i do not mind helping . I am in MASS.
please let me know and give me fair warning .
COL (Ret) Rajni Patel MD.
Perhaps they could consider the VA id card as a Valid ID that would greatly simplify it for millions of veterans.
Your VA card is considered a “valid Military ID”. Why all the ruckus about this? They are offering something incredible and most of you turn it around and complain.
Even if YOU aren’t offered a FREE ticket, at least be grateful for those that can take advantage of this.
Thanks for doing this Six Flags.
I wonder when will the author respond to these very valid questions.
“Veterans and disabled Veterans will receive one free admission ticket to Six Flags Over Georgia with a valid military ID”
VETERANS do not have a valid military ID card unless they are RETIRED military.
DISABLED VETERANS would have their VA ID. Is that what is needed?
Thanks Charles, you can use a VA ID card or your DD214.
So sorry they aren’t READING what is required and keep saying this over and over : /
This veteran read it all and understands that you can use your veterans (VA) ID card.
https://www.va.gov/records/get-veteran-id-cards/vic/
Veterans do in fact have the ability to get a valid ID card. The link above provides the way to obtain it. The ID is issued by the Dept of Veteran affairs. If you live in Oregon, they provide the ID of Veteran on your drivers license. Other states may do that as well.

“Am I eligible for a Veteran ID Card?
You may be eligible if you meet both of the requirements listed below.
Both of these must be true. You:
Served on active duty, in the Reserves, or in the National Guard (including the Coast Guard), and
Received an honorable or general discharge (under honorable conditions)
If you received an other than honorable, bad conduct, or dishonorable character of discharge, you’re not eligible for a Veteran ID Card. If you have an uncharacterized or unknown discharge status, we’ll have to verify your eligibility before we approve your application.
You’ll need to provide a copy of your discharge papers when you apply for a VIC to prove your character of discharge.”
It shouldn’t say vets get free admission, it should say retired, active duty and disabled. Those of us who served but left before retirement don’t get a military id card
You can use a VA ID card or your DD214.
Georgia – If your drivers license has veteran, you are good to go per phone call from Six Flags.
I am a vet that enlisted in 1957….I think?
veterans don’t have valid military id cards
You can use a VA ID card or your DD214
Poorly thought out. Most veterans no longer have a valid military ID card.
Thanks for your comment. You can use a VA ID card or your DD214
Acknowledging and showing appreciation for Veterans is absolutely wonderful!! It makes me feel really great!!! I’m very appreciative to be recognized. Thank you for looking out for America’s Hero’s!!
Melisa Barker
Thanks Melisa!
How does a veteran get the free ticket when veterans do not have a valid military ID card? Is there some way to get a military ID card for veterans?
Dennis, we have updated the blog. Six Flags will accept a DD214 or a VA ID card to verify Veteran status for a free ticket.
If you’re no longer active duty and don’t have a CAC card how will you be able to get admission to the park? Will a VA identification card suffice?
Joshua, you can use a VA ID card or your DD214.
Re: the free admission to Six Flags of Georgia, a veteran or disabled veteran is not going to possess a valid military ID because he or she is no longer in the Military. Most organizations like Home Depot ect accept local government issued IDs or copies of the DD-214.
Veterans don’t have military ID cards. We have Veterans Affairs ID cards issued through the VA Health System. These cards will have “Service Connected” on the card face if the veteran has a service connected disability. My question is – as a veteran I don’t have a military ID card. Will my VA ID card suffice?
Jim, yes. You can use a VA ID card or your DD214
Not all veterans have an ID card. My two veteran daughters did not retire so they have no military ID. Arizona marks veteran on drivers licenses, does Georgia? Would a veteran endorsed state license constitute a valid ID for this offer? Six flags should either publish they will accept presentation of a DD-214 as proof of veteran status or change their offer to state active duty and retired and their dependents only as these are the only persons with valid military ID. Military appreciation should include all veterans or not have an ambiguous title statement.
Carl, yes. Six Flags will accept a valid state ID with a Veteran endorsement, a VA ID card or a DD214. Thanks for your comment!
‘free admission to Veterans’, with a valid military ID card. Unless you did 20 years or more and retired, most vets are not going to have a valid military ID card. I was USN ’67 to ’73 on subs, I don’t have a valid military ID card. I do have DD-214, American Legion card and VA picture ID.
Keith, yes your VA ID card or DD214 will get you the free ticket at Six Flags, thanks for your comment!
