The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders visited VA North Texas Health Care System as part of their community outreach efforts, to perform for and visit with Veterans. The visit by the candidates for next year’s DCC team, mentored by members of the current team, and lead by DCC Director Kelly Finglass, was filmed for later release of the show “Making the Team”. The DCC team visited several areas of the medical center, spending time meeting and talking with our Veterans. DCC and the Cowboys organization have a long-standing relationship with VA North Texas, taking time throughout the year to visit with our Veterans.

VA Salt Lake City hosted its annual Recreation Fair, where Veterans and family members got to try their hand at fly tying, slack line, fencing,Climbing, kayaking, met therapy animals, and more.

Kim Canova-Romans, recreation therapist, leads a Drum Fit class for Veterans at the Dallas VA Medical Center. The Recreation Therapy program at VA North Texas provides treatment and services to Veterans in order to restore wellness or rehabilitate illnesses and disabilities. By offering coordinated quality health care and a variety of recreation resources and activities, Veterans can improve their health, functioning, independence and quality of life.
