Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Scott S. Jensen, who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1989 to 2016.

Originally from Salmon, Idaho, Jensen is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a retired Marine Corps helicopter pilot. He has four combat tours to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. He also deployed twice for contingency operations in Somalia.

In his career, Jensen commanded various USMC aviation units in combat and at home. His 27-year career concluded as the Chief of the Marine Corps’ Behavioral Programs. There, he developed and led programs like Sexual Assault Prevention and Response, Suicide Prevention, Domestic Violence Prevention and Response, Community Counseling Services, and Substance Abuse and Drug Demand Reduction Programs.

Following his service in the Corps, Jensen served in leadership development and later as the CEO of Protect Our Defenders, a non-profit organization that advocates for and provides legal assistance to military, Veteran, and family member survivors of sexual harassment and assault.

Jensen’s passion for service didn’t end when he retired, and it drives him to continue building and maintaining strong ties to individuals and organizations that serve active duty members, Veterans, and their families. He currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer for Team Red, White & Blue, where he oversees the leadership, development, management, and execution of Team RWB’s programs and services. Jensen ensures excellence and impact in programs designed to enrich Veterans’ lives through physical and social activity.

He lives in Virginia with his wife and kids, where he loves to run, hike, ski and enjoy outdoor adventures with his chocolate labs, Sage and Sierra.

You can learn more at the Team RWB website.
