Arkansas Veterans and their stories are in the spotlight for Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System’s inaugural ‘Faces of Veterans’ project.

From November 5 through 16, 24 Veterans from throughout the state, and from all branches and conflicts, are featured in high-art photo posters displayed throughout the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, and the Eugene J. Towbin Medical Center in North Little Rock.  In addition, each Veteran tells their story in videos that will be posted to CAVHS’ Facebook and Twitter pages.

“Our Veterans all have incredible life stories that should be shared with everyone in the state,” said Dr. Margie Scott, medical center director.  “This project brings to life just some of the stories they have to tell, as well as the compelling stories written on their faces.”

The project reached out to Veterans from WWII through current service, and includes three WWII heroes, Veterans of Korea, Vietnam, the Cold War, Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn.  All branches of the military are represented.

Members of the general public are encouraged to visit either facility to see the posters, and to visit the CAVHS Facebook page and the CAVHS Twitter page to view the short videos.  One or two videos will be posted each day beginning November 5.
