Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Air Force Airman First Class Meggen Pearsall-Ditmore. Meggen served as a et mechanic in the Air Force.
Meggen was born in Canton, South Dakota where she lived until she joined the Air Force. She enlisted in 1997 following her graduation from high school.
Meggen played a significant role in Air Force history as the first female Crew Chief of the A-10 Thunderbolt fighter jet. Her role in maintaining the aircraft was critical to Operation Desert Fox, a four-day bombing mission on Iraq in 1998. While in the Air Force, Meggen also spent time stationed at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. She discharged in 1999.
Today, Meggen lives in Oregon with her husband, who is also a Veteran. Together, they have two children. Meggen graduated with her nursing certification from Grand Canyon University in 2016 and is currently working as a nurse.
