Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Corps Veteran William Mimiaga. William served in the Vietnam War and in the Gulf War.
William was born in 1946. He enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 18, and was sent out to serve in the Vietnam war. He later served in the Gulf War. William served for a total of 31 years in the Marine Corps before retiring. At the time of his retirement, William was very decorated and had attained the rank of Major.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, William dedicated his life to teaching Special Education. He was recognized by the California’s Teacher of the Year Award for outstanding teaching for three years.
