Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Michael Carlton Riley. Michael served during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969.
Michael was born in 1947 and joined the Army in 1967, where he became a squad leader during the Vietnam War. He served in the Long Range Recon Patrol, also known as LRRP. Michael was awarded the Bronze Star for assignments by General Westmoreland, who commanded American forces during the war and became the Chief of Staff of the Army. Michael also received the Purple Heart, Army Commendation, and the Presidential Unit Citation. He now resides in Rochester, New York.
