Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran John J. Perrotta. John served during World War II from 1943 to 1945.
Following his enlistment into the Army, John was deployed to the European and Mediterranean theaters as a combat medic. John took part in missions in North Africa and crossed over into Southern Italy with Allied forces.
John served alongside Audie Murphy, one of the most decorated American soldiers of World War II. John was in Southern France when German troops surrendered on May 8, 1945.
After his service, John owned a trucking company based out of New York City where he lived with his two children. His legacy lives on through his children and four grandchildren.
John passed away on July 4, 2004.
We honor his service.
