As any parent can attest, caring for newborns can be the most trying stage of the child-rearing adventure and even more so for active-duty military and Veterans.

That’s why Philips is partnering with VA, First Quality Enterprises, the American Legion and the Elizabeth Dole Foundation to host 60 baby showers for 2,400 Veterans at VA medical center sites around the country in support of the 2018 Nationwide Baby Shower. At events May 5 through May 16 – the weeks surrounding Mother’s Day, May 13 – Philips is providing items such as pacifiers, toothbrushes, sippy cups, baby bottles and other basic necessities for the early years of parenthood.

Philips’ also provides support to Veterans and military caregivers through other initiatives such as the Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s Hidden Heroes campaign, which brings vital attention to the untold stories of military caregivers while seeking solutions to the challenges they face. Through Hidden Heroes, Philips supports Veterans in communities across the country to help empower, support and honor our nation’s 5.5 million military caregivers and show them that they are not alone in their journey. By interacting with these communities we are better able to match the needs of caregivers with available resources.

Participation in initiatives like the 2018 Nationwide Baby Shower and the Hidden Heroes Campaign are just some of the many ways in which Philips is helping to break down the barriers to care and make a difference in the lives of new parents, their children and caregivers.
