Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Michael Healy.
Michael enlisted into the Army at 19-years-old near the end of World War II.
He served in Korea leading Army Airborne Rangers and in Vietnam leading Special Forces in combat. His five tours of duty in Vietnam earned him the nickname “Iron Mike.”
Michael’s decorations include three Distinguished Service Medals, two Silver Stars, the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, seven Bronze Stars with Valor, and two Purple Hearts.
Michael died earlier this month. He was 91.
We honor his service.
