At VA, making sure Veterans have access to high quality health care is a priority. That’s why we’re proud to share the recent openings of two state-of-the-art VA medical facilities in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. These locations will reduce the amount of travel necessary for many Veterans to receive timely care.
The Schuylkill County VA Clinic opened in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Services include primary care, pharmacy, telehealth, radiology, and mental and behavioral health. Though less than 4,000 of the county’s 12,000-plus Veterans are currently enrolled with VA, our aim is to expand access and encourage more local Veterans to take advantage of our full range of health care services at the new clinic.
A temporary clinic in Jacksonville, North Carolina has been re-opened on Brynn Marr Road and will increase access capacity for the rapidly growing Veteran population in the area. At the clinic, two providers and their associated patient-aligned care teams will be able to serve around 2,400 Veterans. And work on a second clinic in Jacksonville is nearly complete.

I am glad to see this being done, hopefully this is the first two of many more centers to be opened in other states. I live in florida and the nearest medical center is a three hour trip to Lake City. There are no medical centers west of Lake City. I am not sure if the one in Tallahassee counts as a medical center or is a outpatient clinic.
