Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Theodore “Ted” Houghton. Ted served from 1943 to 1945.

Ted joined the Army in 1943 and became a paratrooper. During his military career, he served in Italy, France, and Belgium. For his service, Ted received the Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, and Belgian Forraguerre.

Following his honorable discharge in 1945, Ted lived in Millersville, Pennsylvania where he worked as a welder. He was devoted to his wife, Hazel, their children, Robert and Diane and their granddaughter, Alison.

Ted passed away on March 4, 2018 at the age of 94.

We honor his service.
