#VeteranOfTheDay Air Force Veteran Albert L. Hencke

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Albert L. Hencke.

Albert enlisted in the Army Air Corps in March 1943. He was a machine gunner on a B-29 Superfortress bomber with 462nd Bombardment Group, 58th Bomb Wing, 20th Air Force while stationed at West Field, Tinian Island.

Albert returned home in 1946 and graduated from St. Louis University Law School using his G.I. Bill. He then commissioned in the newly created Air Force Reserve and practiced law for 50 years.

He met his wife at a USO in Kansas when he was stranded there during a blizzard.

Today, he turns 92-years-old.

Thank you for your service, Albert, and happy birthday!
