#VeteranOfTheDay Marine Veteran Alex Stone

shadow

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Alex Stone.

Alex knew at an early age that he wanted to be Marine after learning about the Corps from his grandfather, who served in World War II.

He enlisted right out of high school and served four years. During his time in service, he deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

After separating from the service, Alex began working in the sporting goods industry. He spent five years at Under Armour before resigning to start his own company, Athletes of Valor. His company supports transitioning service members from service to career by leveraging collegiate sports.

Thank you for your service, Alex!

Do you want to light up the face of a special Veteran? Have you been wondering how to tell your Veteran they are special to you? You’re in luck! VA’s #VeteranOfTheDay social media feature is an opportunity to highlight your Veteran and his/her service.

It’s easy to nominate a Veteran. All it takes is an email to newmedia@va.gov with as much of the information as you can put together with some good photos. Visit our blog post about nominating for how to create the best submission.
