As an essential part of our Rehabilitation and Prosthetic Services team, recreation therapy professionals at VA work to improve Veterans’ lives through meaningful, evidence-based activities. The goal is to help patients regain and maintain their functional independence. Together, we strengthen our communities – and you can join in.

VA continues to be the largest employer of recreation and creative arts therapists in the nation. As an interdisciplinary practice, our Recreation Therapy Department offers opportunities in numerous fields, such as:

  • Activities Coordination
  • Art Therapy
  • Dance/Movement Therapy
  • Drama Therapy
  • Lifeguarding
  • Medical Foster Home
  • Music Therapy
  • Neurology and Rehabilitation

These are just some of the many ways in which you can serve those who’ve served our nation. Although the work can be challenging, it’s well worth the fulfillment that comes with caring for Veterans. Plus, VA provides outstanding benefits, from generous paid time off and flexible scheduling, to exceptional health insurance options, including vision and dental plans.

This post would be more helpful to the job seeker if it included minimal education or other qualifications instead of linking to job openings near the reader. I.e., the blog is citing many titles while the link goes to a geographic pinpointed application and multiple documents that may or may not be applicable to this job.
