Our VA nurses are essential members of our professional team. Thanks to their diligent work, we are able to provide the best care for all our Veterans. At VA, nurses are at the center of integrated treatment and are a leading forced behind our compassionate care. There are few Veterans whose lives have not been touched by the care and reassurance that nurses provide, every hour and every day.

We understand the life-changing role our nurses serve every day, and hold their compassion and dedication to our patients with the highest regard. Hard-working, attentive and committed, our nurses develop treatment plans, swiftly tend to medical emergencies, perform tests, and so much more. They’re involved in every step of the healing process and often go beyond their responsibilities in providing emotional support for Veterans. Our nurses provide the absolute highest quality care for our Veterans and their family members.

That’s why we want to say a big ‘Thank You’ to all our nurses, not only for setting new standards, but for all their hard work. We appreciate and applaud all their contributions, not just this Nurses Week, every single day.

I appreciate all of the good work that the V.A. Nurses do. I would like to give a special thanks to Nurse Keshia of the VA Clinic in the Naval Hospital in Beaufort, SC for demonstrating professionalism and courtesy in performing her duties on the behalf of our Veterans.

I am a retired Air Force Nurse, acknowledging the Nurses at the VAMC in DC are second to none! I was an inpatient last fall on one of the units; those nurses took the best care of me! They provided a commitment and determination to my care as though I was the only patient on the unit. Their professionalism should be what written nursing school care plans are based upon. Eternal thanks for my well-being.
