Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Will Thomas.

Will served for six years in the military as a field artillery officer in the Texas Army National Guard. In 2008, he deployed to Iraq as a bodyguard and manager of the Army’s Baghdad hotel for visiting dignitaries. During the yearlong deployment, Will monitored over 2,000 visitors, including former Vice President Joseph Biden, former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, and comedian Stephen Colbert. He has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Parachutist Badge, German Sports Badge, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

In 2007, Will graduated from Texas Christian University with honors and he graduated from Baylor Law School with magna cum laude honors in 2012. After earning both his J.D. and passing the bar exam, he worked as a law clerk for the United States District Court in the Western District of Texas. He joined Edison, McDowell and Herrington LLP in September 2013 and currently works as one of their lawyers. Outside the office, Will volunteers with the Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic.

Thank you for your service, Will!
