#VeteranOfTheDay Navy Veteran Bill McAfee

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Navy Veteran Bill McAfee.

After graduating from the University of Montana in 1970, Bill joined the Navy and received his commission in 1973.

During sea service assignments, his duties included Navigator and Damage Control Assistant (USS Elmer Montgomery), Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer (USS America), Executive Officer (USS Hoist), and Commanding Officer (USS Opportune).

His awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

Bill retired in 1993.

He now spends his time doing mission work in the Philippines and Nicaragua.
