April is Alcohol Awareness Month

Discover how Rehabilitation Specialists at VA bring hope and healing to our Veterans

April is Alcohol Awareness Month, which is why we’re putting a spotlight on alcohol rehabilitation throughout the Veteran community to reduce the alcoholism stigma and spread awareness. Alcoholism is a chronic and progressive disease that could be fatal if left untreated. But with a proper support team and treatment plan, recovery is achievable. At VA, we care for Veteran health in its entirety which is why beyond physical services, we provide substance abuse and treatment programs. Our Rehabilitation Specialists provide a number of healing options for those seeking help. From personalized counseling to medications, they create treatment plans to meet each patient’s needs for long-term recovery.

Overcoming an addiction can feel like a monumental task without support, but VA’s substance abuse services offer Veterans the help they need on their journey toward recovery. Rehabilitation Specialists are deeply important in caring for Veteran health. If you have a calling to help restore wellness, positivity, independence, through both physical and mental health, consider joining our Mental Health services team. What state are you in? I will look into it for you. I am not in the military but I am near Camp Pendleton so I have a lot of friends who are retired military.
