If you’re looking to give back this holiday season, we offer several meaningful opportunities to show support for our Veterans. If you’re a job-seeker interested in VHA, volunteering is a great way to get involved and get familiar with our organization. We currently have an amazing team of volunteers who work together to show our Veterans just how much we appreciate their service. With several ways to participate, there are plenty of ways to get involved and give back.

Current Students: If you’re a student, join our Student Volunteer Program and receive invaluable experience for college and job applications. You’ll even be eligible for The James H. Parke Memorial Youth Scholarship Award.

Organizations: If you’re already in the workforce, you can participate in our Company-Sponsored Volunteer Program. We’ll tailor programs for your company, so existing skills can be put to use in rewarding ways.

Specialized Volunteering: There are even more ways to help America’s Veterans and give back to the community:

  • Homeless Outreach: If you’d like to help homeless Veterans live as independently as possible, you might be interested in volunteering with our VA Homeless Veterans Program.
  • Cemetery Administration: Our VA National Cemetery Administration honors veterans with final resting places that commemorate their service to our nation.
  • Transportation to VHA: The Volunteer Transportation Network provides transportation for Veterans seeking treatment from a VA facility.
  •  Welcome Home: The VA Welcome Home Celebrations initiative sponsors events around the country for returning military service members and their families. Find out how to get involved with our special programs and initiatives here.

We appreciate our Veterans year-round, but the holiday season is a wonderful time to get involved. Everyone can do something to show Veterans how much we appreciate their service. To honor their bravery and patriotism, learn more about specific volunteer opportunities at your local VA Medical Center. To make a career out of giving back, consider bringing your talents to  VA. Check out available positions at your local VA facility.

If your VA has your Volunteer app for 4 months and it never gets to security then you can not volunteer! So I have looked elsewhere as opposed to working with our VA’s

The organization that I work with the Ohio Decoy Collectors and Carvers Assoication has a show each year in Strongsville, OH on March 10 -11, 2018. At that show we had a Wounded Warrior working with our accomplished decoy makers learning how to make a hunting decoy. We also welcomed any one that would like to watch and learn the benefits of wood carving waterfowl decoys, song birds, hawks and even fish.

We would welcome any veteran to learn to the benefits of wood carving and painting waterfowl decoys or decorative birds.
I have carved for many years and gives me a outlet to develop skills in carving and painting is a great therapy and a get away from stress for many of us.

We invite you to look at our website and see what the organization represents. It is a 501 C non profit. We would welcome those veterans to contact us or come to the show.
