#VeteranOfTheDay Marine Veteran Nick Baucom

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Veteran Nick Baucom.

Nick joined the Marines right out of high school in 2002. After boot camp, he enrolled at the University of Memphis. His stay was brief when his reserved unit was activated to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. He rose to the rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 2008.

He came home to find that his home-contracting business had failed and was forced to declare bankruptcy. However, Nick did not quit and learned from his mistakes. When people started asking him to help them to help move, he saw a brilliant business opportunity. Instead of accepting pizza and beer as payment, he transformed his job to a small moving business, which is now a multi-million dollar operation called ‘Two Marines Moving’. His company serves residents who start their moving process in the Washington D.C. area. The company is dedicated to employing veterans, and now provides more than 70 people with jobs, varying from movers to sales staff to dispatchers. Over the past three years, he has assisted hundreds of veterans to smoothly transition from military service to the civilian sector.

Thank you for your service Nick, and your continued dedication to veterans!
