This week thousands of Veterans, VA employees and community partners geared up to beat feet in the sixth annual VA2K Walk and Roll.

The 1.2-mile walk or (roll) coincided with National Employee Health and Fitness Day to raise awareness of VA’s commitment to ending Veteran homelessness. The event is a national initiative with more than 170 VA sites around the country participating.

“The event encourages healthy activity while collecting donated food and clothing to support homeless and displaced Veterans,” said Tia Lewis with VA’s Work/Life Benefits program.

Last year, nearly 25,000 Veterans, VA employees, and community members around the country participated, donating money and goods worth more than $325,600 to help homeless Veterans.
