Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Veteran Gail Reals. Reals was the second female brigadier general in the Marine Corps.
Denise Jelinski-Hall felt stuck in her small hometown of Little Falls, Minnesota, so she created a new future for herself by joining the Air Force. Years, later, Jelinski-Hall became – at the time – the highest-ranking enlisted female in United States military history.
Veterans will continue to see improvements in VA services, VA Secretary Robert Wilkie said at “State of the VA” speech Feb. 5 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. These improvements for Veterans include increased innovation—including the VA’s first 5G hospital—along with decreased wait times for appointments and better overall care.
Army Veteran Ursula Draper developed the VA Assistive Technology Program in 2010. The program finds adaptive ways for Veterans to access their environment, such as turning on lights or accessing computers. Draper talks about some of the specific technologies VA has developed to help Veterans.
