My HealtheVet has a new look – Check it out!

VA is committed to serving Veterans and providing them with the best possible health care. This is why VA redesigned My HealtheVet and adopted U.S. Web Design Standards to improve Veterans’ online experience. My HealtheVet, VA’s online personal health record, is a free tool to help Veterans take charge of their health care.

The site will feature new colors and a leaner, cleaner look. Veterans will notice that all their favorite My HealtheVet features such as Pharmacy, Appointments, Secure Messaging, and Health Records are still accessible on the home page.

What Enhancements Can Veterans Expect?

  • New Drop-down Boxes: There are now fewer tabs, making it easier for Veterans to quickly navigate to where they want to go. We replaced 13 red and white tabs with six blue drop-down topics.  Each of the following topics has drop-down navigation sub topics to help Veterans locate their targeted feature:
    • Personal Information
    • Pharmacy
    • Research Health
    • Get Care
    • Track Health
    • MHV Community
  • Search, About, Contact: These resources are now on the upper right-hand corner of every page, making them more visible.
  • Quick Links: The popular “Quick Links” section, with links to VA resources, is located on the bottom of every page.
  • Login and Register: The Login and Register buttons are clearly visible. Registration requires fewer steps.
  • Other Changes: Overall, My HealtheVet is adopting the VA-wide web design. Veterans will notice some other minor changes, such as the eye-catching Login and Register buttons.

What Will Be the Same?

  • Health Information: Veterans’ VA health information and self-entered data will not be affected by this change.
  • Features and Functionality: All features and functionality are the same. Veterans will still be able to accomplish their tasks as before (refilling prescriptions, sending Secure Messages, accessing VA medical records etc.).
  • User ID and Password: My HealtheVet User IDs and passwords are not affected.

  • Call the My HealtheVet Help Desk at 1-877-327-0022 or 800-877-8339 (TTY), Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Central Time), or
  • Contact the My HealtheVet Coordinator at your local VA Medical Center.

    I don’t surprise for this kind of articles, yet. I wait for when will people apply that data to a real time AI pattern? I suppose it will be end of personal dieticians in 10-15 years. But this is really great, i will use this app.

    Please do not use yellow text on a white background. Yellow is invisible on white to those of us with red/green colorblindness, –and that is a whole lot of us. The “messages” section of “myhealthevet”uses yellow on white and I can not see it. Please use high contrast black on white and put your new color Crayon set away!

    i have ffriend who lives in the same assisted living facility. He is in the first stages of dementia and has problems learning to use the computer, Do you have any programs that I may be able to help him use the computer? My instruction seems to frustrate him!!!!!

    I have a really hard time reading light print as I have diabetic retinopathy I also have one good eye and the other eye is visually impaired.

    I don’t see one thing the New! Improved! HealtheVet does better for its users than the old one did. This seems purely cosmetic, and hardly worth the time. Fix it so that it updates continually, like bank web sites and many others do (not once per day), and allow vets to ask for a notice when some new result or finding is posted to his or her health records. That’d be useful. Making such a big fuss over basically nothing just reinforces the idea that the VAs web people don’t understand how veterans actually use the site.

    Looks to be just “cosmetic” only!

    Include things like: TRAVEL PAY, & APPLICATION FOR BENEFITS SUBMITTED DATE.

    A pure [redacted] web design. I used to be able to get in and out in a minute and half. Now I cannot even finish, well have to give an entire [redacted] day to do what was easy. So glad this [redacted] is the new national design.
