At some point, in most military careers, our men and women in uniform will spend the holidays apart from their families.  It can be tough on both sides — for the family and for those serving.

Tim Rushlow

Recording artist Tim Rushlow

Acclaimed recording artist Tim Rushlow, the former lead singer of the group Little Texas, is one of the performers who spent some of his holidays traveling to entertain those deployed and based overseas.

“I co-wrote ‘A Soldier’s Gift’ after one of the many times I visited with and performed for our troops who are serving away from home during the holiday season,” Rushlow shared with VAntage Point.  “It occurred to me to say a special ‘thank-you’ to the men and women who are away from their families so that I can be with mine.”

Our Servicemembers are near and dear to my heart, and I appreciate them so much. This song is just a small token of gratitude because I wanted to pay tribute to them. Here’s wishing a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season to everyone.” – Tim Rushlow

Rushlow’s song “A Soldier’s Gift” pays tribute to America’s Armed Forces. Here’s the video that was just recently released, which can also be viewed on Vimeo and YouTube.

I am a veteran of Iraq & Afghanistan. The people are great at VA. I have a problem with the system in which they operate. I know what my primary physician wants done and he requested.

1.The system denied his request. There seems there is no connection between primary and specialty Care. This situation impedes the veterans Care. Primary care on the outside is much faster. It also costs VA more when the system makes the care plan and there is human interface.
    2. VA medications are the cheapest available the same MEDS are obsolete outside VA. Veterans should be afforded the very best on the market. It seems as though the VA pharmacy operates as Insurance companies do. There is no excuse for the way this works!!!!!
