“I am part of the third generation of my family to serve in the United States Military, so for me and my family this is the greatest honor and the proudest tradition we have. Now, I am a Veteran and caring for military families and personnel allows me to continue to serve my country. Here at Riverside National Cemetery, we only get one chance to get the service right, so we always demand the best of our employees to provide the Veteran and their family with trusted service and a little bit of comfort in difficult times.”

The President’s Award for Customer Service is part of the Federal Customer Service Awards Program, which was established in 2015. The program recognizes, promotes, and rewards service excellence, professionalism, and outstanding achievement by federal employees. The program helps identify effective practices that can be replicated within and across agencies.

“Oliver Villalobos is a true servant leader who personifies the dedication of NCA employees across the nation by ensuring Veterans have a final resting place of dignity, honor and respect,” said Ronald E. Walters, Interim Undersecretary for Memorial Affairs.

A total of 10 awards were given nationally to federal employees and teams working on initiatives with a direct impact on customers.
