The first Monday in September is a day that millions of Americans get the day off work. Time is typically spent relaxing and enjoying festivities with family and friends.

But let’s not forget, the reason we are able to have this day of rest and leisure is because of the sacrifice of our dedicated soldiers and Veterans who have protected our country and our freedom. There are many who don’t have the privilege of enjoying this holiday, so at VA we are committed to participating in a number of volunteer opportunities that serve our Veterans and our community.

Care Enough to Share is just one of the many programs we offer to the public and encourage our employees to participate in. Care Enough to Share is a mental health care initiative that focuses on the overall physical and mental health of a person. At VA, you can even earn continuing education credits and clinical hours for licensure by volunteering.

This Labor Day as you enjoy your day off work with your family and friends, be sure to take a moment to thank the men and women of our armed forces who made this day possible.

Learn more about our volunteer opportunities and how you can get involved in your community here.

Start your new career and give back to Veterans today by taking a look at our open positions. We’re hiring across the country!

It’s always nice to hit the end of the 101 days of summer and regroup for the fall. Thanks for the reminder to relax, breathe and enjoy labor day for what it is. It’s also very special knowing that the men and women of our armed forces both stateside and abroad work 365/24/7 to maintain the freedom that we enjoy on these extended holiday weekends.
